for fishing as well as canoing, kayaking and recreational boating.
Local ATV trails are also accessible directly from the cottage. Portage
Lake is on the edge of the 3.5 million acre North Maine Woods System.
The Musquacook Lakes and Allagash River region are an easy day trip

Previous Owners:
A big thanks to Jim and Shelly Fahey, the previous owners of this fine
Portage Lake Rental, for helping
out with our transition and keeping up with the bookings and
correspondence with recent and near future clients!
The
New Owners:
We are Paula & Ernie Smith and live in Bucksport and are
called the "Traveling Nomads" by our family because we never light very
long in one place. We have only been up a half dozen times, fall and
winter, and are
looking forward to spending some quality time at this great Portage
Lake Vacation Rental ourselves! This area of the North Maine Woods is a
great area to come and relax in! And we are really looking forward to
some great trout and salmon fishing!
This website is new and will likely go through many growing pains. With
a domain name like
doportage.com we hope to expand to
include as many local interests as possible. But for now we will rely
on the links below and add/modify as we go!
